1971 Toyota FJ40 - $35,000 - Delta, CO - Just finished frame off restoration of this 1971 FJ40. The original, and rare, F1 engine has been rebuilt and has about 50 miles on it since rebuild. The vehicle has new quarter panels and is completely rust free. I've done a few uprades that don't affect the original look. It has front disc brakes and the front end has been completely rebuilt. It had an aftermarket rear secondary fuel tank with filler inside the rear cab! No! A custom filler identical to the original one on the side was fabricated and hidden behind the spare tire carrier. See picture. It does not have the rear jump seats. It had what I thought was an orignal roll bar bolted to the inner fenders, however it was not completely square and we couldn't get the hard top to sit properly with it on, so it was removed. It has been powdercoated and I will give it to the buyer if you want it. Would be fine to use if hard top removed. If you know your FJ's well, you'll know there was a hood change in 1971. This FJ had the correct, late year hood on it, but I changed it to the early year "split" hood because I like the look better. I have the original hood and will sell with the vehicle if you want it. This is a beaurtiful, western Colorado, rust free restoration. You've seen prices all over the map for these. I"ve priced it at a fair, realistic price. Not the "I saw one at auction go for over 100K" price many try and get.
