Throughout the post WWII world it seems that every country was building their version of the iconic Willy??s Jeep. Japan was no different with offerings from Mitsubishi Daihatsu Suzuki and of course the most well known would have to be the Land Cruiser from Toyota. The Korean war was what originally launched the FJ series which was a slightly larger copy of the Willy??s MA. After 10 years of production the 40 series was introduced with an updated body and larger displacement 6 cylinder engine. This body style much like the willy??s jeep became an instant icon with the FJ40 being left mostly unchanged in design and functionality for over 24 years. Our particular FJ comes swathed in a good looking Silver metallic paint job with interior painted to match. Gone however is the 3.9l I6 which was replaced with a 5.7l 350CID small block Chevy V8 though the original 3 speed transmission transfer case and differentials remain. The small block swap on this truck is very clean and tidy plus comes with some great features such as air conditioning provided by classic air industries power steering and power brakes. In true FJ fashion the top doors and windshield can be removed for great open air motoring and custom roll cage helps increase the safety in case things get interesting off road.
